ASIA WIDJAJA

Hi! I'm Asia, a third-year university student and an aspiring photographer! I started photography in high school for social events, then started taking it more seriously in university. Now, I mostly do travel film photography and have been experimenting with digital studio shots as well. I love capturing the warmth and unique personalities of people and nature.
I'm currently the Film Officer in University College London's Photography Society, and am always looking forward to meeting other fellow film and photography lovers!

Film
Photography
My love for film photography started in 2022, when I brought a gifted Nikon EF300 in a solo trip to Belgium. The pictures then were mostly blurry and underexposed (I didn't know how an analogue camera worked then), but I loved the feeling of being intentional while taking pictures.

When I take pictures, I try to think about what feeling I want to show and make out how I can capture that with whatever is around. Though, more often than not, it comes very candidly in random moments.

DIGITAL

Photography
In late 2026, I got my first full-frame mirrorless camera (Sony a7cii). I'm still trying to figure out my style and what works for me, but I've definitely been loving it a lot. Finally, I was no longer limited to 24-36 shots per roll.

The biggest trade-off I find in switching to digital is trying to capture the warm feeling that certain types of film convey well. But I've very much enjoyed being more experimental with my shots!
